This highly effective process uses inquiry, support, and accountability to increase your awareness and responsibility while creating an ease of well-being.
Coaching, Consulting, and Therapy
Coaching shares features with consulting and psychotherapy. Like consultants, coaches are often called in to address a business problem; but unlike consultants who give advice, coaches seek solutions from the client to help the client move forward. Then the client’s change in behavior and attitude is permanent. The coach has helped the client bring out his or her best.
Like therapy, coaching is an on-going relationship with emphasis on listening, understanding, and bringing internal obstacles to the surface. Coaching uses, in addition, requests for action and reporting back. A coach works with people who are happy with their lives in general; they are eager to move to a higher level of functioning (for instance, increasing joy, maximizing productivity, or defining their life purpose) and are unsure how to do this. People experiencing transitions and adults with Attention Deficit Disorder respond especially well to coaching.
How Coaching Works
Coaching generally begins with a 1 1/2 hour in person strategic planning session where we design the coaching relationship specifically to meet your needs. We identify your values, goals and priorities, discuss plans and strategies, and outline actions. Weekly 30 minute phone sessions maintain momentum and focus as you bring out your best. Complete packages start at $200 per month.
Through the client’s vision and my coaching, we clarify the intention and set the scene of things the client wishes to be drawn toward. Actions more effective and easier when the will is aligned with inner values. By lining up their business with spirit, people begin to see how it is possible to have what they want, with less struggle. They live new patterns of balance and ease.
When clients get stuck, confused, or frightened about something, we review what stops them, ways they hold themselves back. This exercise, nailing the mental and emotional culprits and detaching, is often hard and brings up painful thoughts such as “I’m not going to get what I want” or “I’ll never succeed at this”. Other gremlins, too, pop out to impede progress; yet they are teachers as well. As clients examine their behavior, roles, and hidden agreements, they learn more about themselves and disengage from self-limiting attitudes. This increased self-awareness allows clients to become clearer about how they want life and work to be.
